Cookie Notice

This notice follows the Turkish Data Protection Authority's Guideline on Cookie Practices and the ePrivacy principles applied under the GDPR. Photonza uses as few cookies as possible: the ones strictly necessary for the service need no consent; measurement cookies load only if you accept them. Version: 2026-09-22.

1. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files a website places in your browser. localStorage and sessionStorage entries used for the same purposes are also referred to as "cookies" in this notice.

2. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

The service does not work without these. The legal basis is the provision of the service under Article 5/2(c) (performance of a contract) and 5/2(f) (legitimate interest) of KVKK.

  • sb-*-auth-token (cookie, Supabase): Keeps you signed in. Duration: for the session; extended as it refreshes.
  • photonza_language (cookie + localStorage): Your language preference (TR/EN). Duration: 1 year.
  • photonza_event_session (localStorage): Remembers which event you joined. Duration: until you leave the event.
  • photonza_pending_event (sessionStorage): Carries the step between scanning the QR code and entering your name. Duration: until the tab closes.
  • photonza_cookie_consent (localStorage): Stores your cookie choice and its date. Duration: 12 months.
  • wm_findme_collapsed (localStorage): Whether the "Find Me" box is collapsed. Duration: persistent; contains no personal data.

3. Measurement cookies (explicit consent required)

These load only if you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you decline or make no choice, none of them run. The legal basis is your explicit consent under Article 5/1 of KVKK.

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*): Measures in aggregate which pages are visited and how often. IP addresses are truncated. Duration: 2 years. Provider: Google LLC (USA).
  • Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM): Measures page usage as heatmaps and anonymised session recordings; text typed into form fields is masked. Duration: 1 day to 13 months. Provider: Microsoft Corporation (USA).

Both providers are located abroad. We use these tools only with your consent and only to improve the service; we do no advertising or retargeting.

4. Managing your preferences

You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. When you withdraw consent, the measurement scripts stop running from the next page load; you can delete cookies already set from your browser settings.

You can also block all cookies in your browser settings; in that case you may not stay signed in.
